Decided to make one of my pictures into an old postcard

Out in the middle of the Mojave desert, half an hour from the nearest remote highway sits an inn long forgotten.

The Lake Shore Innn was built in 1960 hoping to prosper California City as a resort town, though failed after only a few years and has been left to rot.

The city around it is as decayed as the hotel itself. Despite having a population of 13,260, the town has many foreclosed homes and and very few of its residents out and about.

Despite shooting high, the Lake Shore Inn and California City remain sitting and rotting as the rest of the state and cities around them continue to grow and prosper.
