In the middle of Los Angeles stands the isolated Sears tower built in 1926 and abandoned in 1992.
Standing proudly at 10 stories, the building was one of the company's mail-order facilities, with a retail store on the ground floor.
Built in less than 6 months, the building was left to rot due to the facilities being "outdated." But in its prime, the building had employees that filled orders on roller skates and became an icon during its time with the latest technology that drew people by the thousands.
Many proposals had been thrown out over the years on what to do with the now historical landmark, everything from making it into another mall to apartment buildings and even office space. It has been sold many times over the years, though remains vacant ready for the next phase in its life.
